The Sands Motel is proudly 100% family-owned and operated by the Tenaglia Family, now in their third generation of hospitality in the Wildwoods.

 

The family’s journey began in 1973 when Joseph & Maria Tenaglia purchased their first rental property on Poplar Ave. They later moved from Philadelphia to Wildwood Crest full-time, expanding their presence with several well-known properties, including the Viking Motel, the Summer Sands Motel, and the Sands Resort (the namesake behind the Sands Motel).

 

Deeply rooted in the local community, the Tenaglia family also shares ties with the beloved Snuffy’s Restaurant, a Wildwood Crest favorite that served guests for over 50 years.

 

In 2024, the Sands Motel was proudly added to the family’s collection, continuing their tradition of hands-on hospitality and guest-focused service. Today, the third generation is actively involved, bringing fresh energy while staying true to the values that have defined the family for decades.
